Vintage Audio for sale - Update

Pictures:

I have a few more pictures that I can share, but these should give a general idea as to condition.

Vintage Audio for sale

If any of my readers are interested, I have a Fisher 500 800-C tube receiver and a McIntosh tube amp for sale. Both came out of a HiFi set that my dad owned (from the 50s or early 60s), and both are believed to be rebuildable (and no warranty for fitness is otherwise expressed or implied).

I have no idea what their value is. I intend to put them up on eBay in hopes of getting enough for a decent pistol (like something designed by JMB-PBUH).

Some insight into what I am up against is appreciated. Pics can be posted if requested.

Edited to add: The receiver is a Fisher 800-C and the amplifier is a McIntosh MC-30. There is also a Heathkit A-9C tube amplifier and an Al Davis under-dash AM radio with mounting bracket.

Top Shot Mike

I watched the first episode of Top Shot on HULU and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am not a fan of Survivor-type shows, but I do understand the appeal.

After watching Mike Seeklander completely fail at shooting the 1903 Springfield, I (like many others) were wondering just what the heck happened. And, to be fair, I am out there in print saying I thought I might be able to figure out that shot sooner. But, I wasn't there and it is easy to criticize from behind the anonymous keyboard.

Anyway, here is Mike in his own words regarding the performance. Seems like a class act, and someone I would like to meet some day.

RV 12 information

I recently spoke to a Van's rep about the RV-12 avionics package. As some of you know, Garmin has discontinued the 396 (the 496 will be discontinued shortly) and Dynon has some new stuff out. The Van's rep told me that the next iteration in the avionics package will eliminate the 496 in favor of the Dynon SkyView package with GPS, and likely with XM Weather and digital radio. Look for an announcement at Oshkosh this summer.

The AirBum Cowboy's Up

Pitts pilot and instructor, author, and photographer extraordinaire Budd Davisson has a wonderful post up about Cowboy Action Shooting. Head on over and check it out. It is a fun read and Budd always has interesting things to say.

I've never met him (although I hope to meet him at Oshkosh when I go), but I have been enjoying his articles for years. Head over and check out Airbum...

Cheers!
