Still Here

36“No one knows when that day or hour will come—not the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father, 37because just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. 38In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark. 39They were unaware of what was happening until the flood came and swept all of them away. That's how it will be when the Son of Man comes. 40At that time two people will be in the field. One will be taken, and the other will be left behind. 41Two women will be grinding grain at the mill. One will be taken, and the other will be left behind.

42“So keep on watching, because you don't know on what day your Lord is coming. 43But be sure of this: if the owner of the house had known when during the night the thief would be coming, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44So you, too, must be ready, because at an hour you are not expecting him the Son of Man will come.” Matthew 24:36-44 (ISV)

Anybody who proclaims that they know when the end of the world will come is either a thief or a liar. Our charge is not to try and divine the moment of Messiah's return, but instead to recognize the signs of the times and prepare accordingly.

Have a great day!

But the current administration is sure as hell trying to make Revelations come true... sigh...

That's what's been cracking me up so much - a supposed 'biblical scholar' forecasts this when the inability to forecast it at all couldn't be more clear biblically! (Wow that sounds confusion now that I read what I just wrote...)

I once heard a well known preacher teach a week of revival services on Revelation. One of the best things he said was yes, no man knows the day or the hour, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun trying to guess. He had his own worked out date, which he did not share with us.

The other thing he pointed out is that a believer doesn't have to be right. We'll be okay, even if the end comes 1,000 years from now.

Well to be fair, he could also just be crazy.
