Looking for holster advice

Need an IWB Holster for a full-sized XD.

Do any of my readers currently carry one of these IWB? If so, what holster works for you?

I do realize that holster choice is as personal as "Boxers or Briefs". But I am trying to rapidly winnow the choices. As an example, my other carry gun has two holsters for it that I dearly love: a Galco "Concealable" OWB, and a Milt Sparks IWB. Both are exceptional and are worth every penny spent.

I am not looking to carry this "deep cover" and am therefore not looking for any variation of "thunderwear". Given the setup of safeties on this gun, I am also not looking for anything without sufficient structure to prevent a ND.

Comments are open, "fire away".

Pax,

Newbius

I've used a C-TAC with my XD for years and I like it.

I carry the full size XD and the Subcompact (fits both).

I've had very good luck with my Smith & Wesson SW99 full size in a Cross Breed SuperTuck.

It (the SuperTuck) will also fit the subcompact Smith as well as most Glock full size, compact, and subcompact models.

I highly recommend Comptac products, specifically the MTAC

For a great product at a VERY reasonable price, I cannot speak highly enough of Lobo Gun Leather. An IWB rig for my 242, with an extra set of loops and a dump pouch, was $80.

I have a snap-on/off OWB for my 5946 with a mag pouch that also ran me $80.

Customizing is available (basketweave, etc), and turnaround is 3-4 weeks.

I'll agree with the recommendation for the CrossBreed Super Tuck.

I carry my Taurus PT-145 Mil Pro in one and it is the most comfortable IWB I've used.

If I were you, I'd have me make one for you. :-)

Michael,

Maybe. You're sure that this isn't a ploy to get another gun to use as a pattern? :)

LOL! You know, I could always use another gun. XD's are numerous enough that it shouldn't be hard to come up with a dummy though.

RE: NDs on an XD - if I flag my thumb along the back of the slide, my hand is of the correct geometry to not engage the grip safety.

Makes reholstering more confident. YMMV.
