The Feedback Loop

I get correspondence from friends, family, and followers that doesn't show up in the blog. In recent days, I have received feedback from a couple of different sources wondering if I have really become the dark, brooding, angry person that is coming through in my recent posts.

Yes and No.

I am a passionate person who believes in Liberty, and thinks that there is an awful lot wrong with our government currently. The current state of affairs, the continuing erosion of our Liberty, can be laid at the feet of every President going back 100 years, not just the current one. We have gotten here incrementally. Recent years, and these four most current Presidents, have accelerated the process dramatically, especially GWB and BHO.

This bothers me.

I have read the writings of our Founders. I have read the writings of Blackstone and John Stuart Mill. I have also read the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf. Today, our government more closely resembles the vision of the latter two, than the former.

This also bothers me. So I write about it.

In truth, I am generally an optimistic person. I live in the greatest country the world has ever known. We have boundless opportunity in front of us, as long as we do not allow our government institutions to kill our future, stifle our creativity, and muzzle our freedoms to favor special interests for EITHER party.

So, with this said, today I am going to relax like Princess Sophie:

Enjoy your day.

Pax,

Newbius

I have often struggled with some of those feelings, especially when I was younger.

Sometimes it's good to remember that we can only, to a small degree, control ourselves. And the world will keep right on spinning with or without our input.

I hope you did enjoy your day. :-)
