Heading over to the local range today to do an 'after-repair' run on the wife's 1911, and also to meet up with another local blogger. A Girl and Her Gun will be there to try my XDm-45, which I have offered to her to use, to help her decide about one for herself (in 9mm IIRC). I am looking forward to meeting her. An After-action report should follow.

Blogroll Addition
A Girl and her Gun. She is new to shooting (having been a former "anti"), and is blogging about her experiences as a new gun owner. Well worth your time (and I think she is local to my area). GO READ.

Blogroll update
Adding Melissa at Psalm 19 to the blogroll. Melissa is a young lady, freshly fledged from George Mason University with an education degree. She has an amazing spirit, and a willingness to serve. She is (hopefully) heading to Bolivia to teach in a couple of months (see post below).
Everybody at Casa Newbius adores her. You can keep up with her doings at her blog.

Remember folks, I run a reciprocal blogroll. If you have me on your rolls and I am not linking you here, please drop me an email or comment. As long as you are not a racist, sexist, homophobic, statist with authoritarian tendencies, I will link you here.

Blogroll Bleg
I have noticed a few hits coming from referring sources I don't recognize (THANKS!).
If you have me in your blog roll, and I have not reciprocated, PLEASE TELL ME! I am a firm believer in reciprocity, and will return the favor. I am sure my 9 readers would be happy to go see your stuff. :)
Drop me an email, or comment in this thread.

Blogroll Addition
I have been remiss. I am adding Larry Correia's Monster Hunter Nation blog to my list. The books are amazing. The guy is first class. Go and read him.
(Okay, there is also a slight possibility that I am also hoping to get blogroll reciprocity and am being a shameless whore about it. I'll admit that the accusation might be plausible. For the record, what I posted above as the reason is my story. I am sticking to it.)

Blogroll update, part deux
Bringing forward two follow-up comments from the previous post.
I had intended to post this in the comments of the thread at Sipsey Street, but the comments applet bombed. I do not know if it made it to the moderation queue..
I remain open to the idea that I am wrong on this.

I am going to consolidate my 2 comment responses from my blog here to refine what my point is. Please forgive the cross-posting:
To me the issue isn't about how much revenue you generate on ads. It is the principle of utilizing other people's intellectual property for your own gain.
I would think that someone who professes to be a "threeper" and who claims to understand the fundamental issues of Life, Liberty, and Property, would grasp why I am objecting.
I'll reiterate. I may be off base here, and I am OK with that.
Look, we all link around to each other, usually with our own commentary added, and that's fine.
When "Jennifer III" had a Wordpress blog, it was on my sidebar, as was the current site until yesterday. If I want an RSS Reader to feed me links to sites I go to anyway, I can get it done another way without having to filter out the ads, whose revenue is not shared with the source (royalties, anybody?).
Oh, and double-check the "Fair Use" laws again, I am pretty sure there are limitations on Commercial Use without written permission...
I have no personal beef with "Jennifer III". I am just objecting to the "ThreeperSphere" site's current composition, which gives the impression that the originating authors like Mike V, Pete @ WRSA, and the other authors linked there support, contribute to, and/or benefit from being linked there.
I'll add this to the above: I am aware that things are usually tight at Mike's house. However, Mike doesn't use advertisements here, even though the incremental pennies that they would generate might help him. A link from "Sipsey Street" is usually good for several hundred additional hits per day, according to my Sitemeter. This might only generate enough money to cover hosting for a mirroring site. It might not cover expenses at all. I don't know, since I use free tools to get my words out and do not run ads.
What I do know is this, I am not in this for the money.
I am in this to exchange ideas, to teach the uninformed, and to have an outlet where I can vent without destroying my marriage or my friendships. My hope is that Jennifer III's heart is in the right place on this one. For now, I will stand by my decision.
I remain open to the idea that I am wrong on this.

Blogroll update
Item removal: "I'll Take Liberty" aka www.threepersphere.com
I added the link because it was a nice aggregation of some of the people on my blogroll. I am removing it because it uses those same links as a means to drive hits to his own website, where advertising is now enabled.
I don't have an issue with generating ad revenue, per se. I do have an issue with revenue generation using other people's work, where the originator of the content doesn't use ads themself, or where the site in question generates no original content on its own.
Sorry...
If I am wrong on this one, so be it. To me, right now, it just looks like a way to ride on someone else's back and take the dime from them. I get enough of that from the government. I don't need it from people who wish to identify with the Liberty movement.

Blogroll Addition- Calvin's Mom
Every time I visit "The Transmogrifier Files", I learn something new. Sometimes I learn about myself. Sometimes I learn about life. Sometimes, I just learn that there are people out there with a slightly-twisted view of life that I really enjoy hearing about.
Calvins' Mom is being added to my daily reading list. She should have been there a long time ago. Enjoy.

Housekeeping
Doing a little of that at home, and also here on the Blog.
On the sidebar you will now find "Eternity Road", a blog with in-depth essays on contemporary topics. Eternity Road is a project by Francis W. Porretto, with contributions from others as well. It is worth making a daily visit.
Also, please enjoy "Day by Day", a political comic strip by Chris Muir. Day by Day is 100% reader funded. If you like it and want to support the strip, toss him a donation.
Finally, I am re-organizing the blog roll. This will happen as soon as I figure out how I want to differentiate Friends and Future Friends. Since I use my side bar as a launching point for my daily reads, I want to have the lists consolidated and sorted by most recent update. Hopefully this will keep the scrolling and such to a minimum because, while I like this particular template, it is slower to load than a simpler theme. I may still change it.
Anyway, that's all for now. Keep your chin up and keep the countdown going. We only have 16 more weeks to go until the election.

Why I don't have this person on my blogroll is a mystery to me. I read him regularly...
A Dixie Carpetbagger will reside on the "People I read daily" list on the sidebar.
Go read him.

Blogroll Changes
The Blogroll has changed dramatically in the last week. The list is huge, so instead I will direct you to the category of "People I've Met". Many of them moved up from "People I Read Daily", and I am humbled by the sheer awesomeness that they represent.
If I met you in Charlotte, and your name is NOT listed, PLEASE let me know.
Also, there have been quite a few additions to the "People I Read Daily" category, mostly because I moved the links from my bookmarks to my Blogroll. These people also have great offerings and should be on your daily reads, too. I will be adding more links, so if I know you and you aren't there. Let me know.
Last: I reciprocate. If you have me on your blogroll and I am not listing you here, drop me a note and I will add you.
