I hate DC

Not just the self-serving political hacks, but the town, too. Every once in a while I have to head into town for business. Today was one of those days.

Forcibly disarmed (because I am law-abiding), packed sardine-like into steamy, sweaty buses and trains, my day consists of one giant suck-fest whenever I go into town. Then, to cap it off, I get to sit in the legendary traffic that is I-95. Kalifornia has traffic, but at least you can "get there from here". Not in DC...

At least I had a productive day.

Hooray tomorrow! I get to tele-commute again.

I hope your day was better.

Pax,

Newbius

You have my condolences. I could make a lot more money doing what I do in DC, but there isn't enough money in thw world to make it worth my while. There is a reason I moved AWAY from there. I see my daughter little enough as it is, and I'd rather not about to add a sucktastic commute on top of it. When I lived by the beltway, work was 9 miles away, and at 6:30 in the morning, it took me 45 minutes to get there, and that was 10 years ago. There was a Metro statio ACROSS the street, and that took even longer.

The few times I have gone into the D.C area I was reminded of a human anthill. It's even built up too much for me where Ms. Nancy lives. (grin) But I AM as country as a chicken coop.......

@ Anon:

First, when that day comes, you will not know if I am carrying or not unless it is the rifle.

Second, spell-check is your friend.

Last, instead of advocating breaking the laws in DC from your safe haven in New York, try working the system to get the laws changed. It couldn't hurt to try...

If it wasn't for the Smithsonian, I wouldn't set foot in that town.
