The trappings of power

Sometimes I wonder if the current president is only in it for the trappings of power.

Gosh, he gets to stump for his hometown's Olympic bid. He gets to travel like American Royalty. He gets personal chefs, private limousines, and an armed escort for his protection. He doesn't have to actually solve anything or do anything. He is the president...with all that the title implies.

So, is it enough to just hold the office and make pretty speeches?

From where I sit...if that is all he did, I could live with it. 2012 is just around the bend...
