RINO changes his stripes

Washington, D.C.

Today, in a bid to repudiate his failing support among Republicans, Senator Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania announces he is switching parties. The switch will lay to rest the claims of conservatives that Specter was always a Democrat, by confirming them once and for all publicly.

Senator Specter's official change to the Democrat Party will finally give them a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate. Said majority being coveted by the Democrats since the dawn of time 2006 when they reclaimed control of Congress. Rumors that the Maine Senators, Snowe and Collins, will be changing parties have been unconfirmed.

Conservative Republicans hailed the change today as "refreshing", noting that Specter's continued existence in the Republican party has caused divisions between those who valued party loyalty and those who valued conservative principles. With this division now removed by the Senator's action today, true conservatives are lining up to fill the void. Look for another senatorial bid by Santorum and others, as the primary battle heats up for this seat.

A party insider, who wishes to remain anonymous, claimed that this move today was a firm blow for truth-in-advertising laws in politics. However, given Senator Specter's propensity for waffling on even the smallest issues of principle, this writer expects to see very little change in the Senate this legislative term.

In other news, another Chicago-area politician pled guilty today to corruption and racketeering charges...


No right-wing activists were harmed in the production of the above post. The only victim so far appears to be the Constitution, whose imminent death has been predicted for the preceding 14 weeks and whose condition grows graver by the day.

Lest any of my readers think that I am opposed to the move by Specter today, let me dissuade you. I think that Honesty is such a rare thing in politicians today that when one displays such, it is a cause for celebration. With Specter out of the way in PA, the Republican party no longer has any excuse not to support the true conservatives who WILL run for the seat. They have too long supported the "devil we know", who has been happily subverting the party for over 20 years. No more.

Town Hall for Hope

No, not "Hope" and "Change".

I'll be at my church welcoming guests and taking registration for the Financial Peace University class. Real change, real information, for REALLY changing lives, and giving people real hope for their own future.

If you help people to be self-sufficient, then they won't be dependant upon anyone for their future. They won't need Government handouts, charity, or false promises sold by Chicago snake-oil salesmen in nice suits. Which means that it will soon be illegal to attend something like this...because Freedom and Liberty require self-sufficiency; and that reduces the power that others have over you.

Which is a very good thing.

Treaties and Law.

David Codrea has some excellent links on his blog which you MUST READ regarding treaties pending before the Senate and also being passed around the dark and smoky back rooms of the United Nations. The worst item of the bunch, though, is this little gem that the former president foisted upon us unawares and which the current president is gleefully pursuing. It is, after all, an existing gun law.

I sent the below message to a correspondent of mine yesterday. After reading what David has linked to, I have decided to re-post it today on my blog. It is mostly stream-of-consciousness, and I apologize in advance if some of the context is lost. Please think about the core message though.

"I am a life-long Republican who is sick of his party.

I cannot even conceive of voting Democrat.

I wonder if we can get a true "Liberty" party up and running between now and 2010? Or maybe co-opt the Libertarian Party with real small-government people and save the drug de-criminalization issue for another time? I just don't know. I DO intend to find out though. I am sure of one thing though...right now it is time to throw ALL of the bums out who are up for re-election.

It might buy us enough time to slow down this train we are on.

I have this nagging fear that the nation may have passed the tipping point and we just do not know it yet. I have a relative who works at a major university, and I am being told that the college professors there are getting armed and are obtaining their carry permits. Many of them for the first time in their lives. Something about the threat this time feels very different.

Clinton was bad, but you could tell he was triangulating to get the biggest amount of credit possible. It really seemed like Clinton was in it for the media glow and the babes.

Obama, on the other hand, is a true-believer. He isn't in it for the votes or the glory. He is in it to get as much stuff changed as quickly as possible. He is in it to get his agenda past the point where the citizens can fix it easily.

Every time some mini-scandal breaks, something bigger slides through. Classic mis-direction. The AIG Scandal? Media cover for FNMA/FHLMC bonuses at 5x the cost and absolutely NO reporting! "Look! Shiny!!" Watch the OTHER hand every time. Some odd stuff is getting slipped through every time some minor infringement gets coverage.

You have to actually go to the House and Senate web pages to even get the synopsis of the stuff that is sliding on through...because nobody is paying attention in the "watchdog media". They are enablers, and they are hoping for crumbs from the master's table.

I have this firmly-held belief that the Founding Fathers put the Treaty provisions into the Constitution with the understanding that the elected leaders would hold our National values dearly. That the treaties the President would sign would align with our founding values. That they would support, rather than undermine the Constitution. That the provision assumed that the leader would not be someone with the intent to subvert the nation.

It strikes me now as the fly in the ointment. The flaw in the plan.

What if a true subversive gained the highest elected office in the land? What if the treaties he signed undermined our sovereignty? What if the Senate was willing to ratify these treaties, because they had some of that hopey-changey feel-good faith as well?

What really happens then?"


Readers, we are there right now. What is your liberty worth to you? Get active with your "representatives". Be willing to tell them that they either preserve your Liberty, protect and defend the Constitution, and oppose these subversions, OR you will do everything in your power to see that they get defeated in the next election, assuming there IS a next election.

Right now we only have our voices. Make yourself heard. The alternative is far too ominous to contemplate.

Right Wing Extremist? Maybe...

...sigh.

How come there is never any coverage about Left-Wing extremists? Oh, sorry. The Media doesn't like to self-promote. I forgot.

Anyhoo, former loon Governor of Arizona and current DHS Gadfly in Command, Janet Napolitano, has published the famous hit piece on mainstream Americans entitled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment". This piece of un-balanced excretia was a swing-and-a-miss from the get-go. It was rushed through to publication, against the advice of the lawyers and advisors with a longer view of things, and hit the distro list just in time for the "TEA Parties".

I am shocked...

I mean, partisan hack-jobs being released immediately prior to a media (non)-event? Whodathunkit? I mean, that kind of stuff NEVER happens in politics, does it?

Nah. That's just paranoia talking, right?

Right?

Or not...

So, the author of the document is listed on page 1 as: "(U) Prepared by the Extremism and Radicalization Branch, Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division. Coordinated with the FBI."

The Department of Homeland Security has an Extremism and Radicalization Branch? Doesn't that mean that in this branch, they are fomenting radicals and extremists? With the help of the FBI? Wow. If I was one of the tinfoil-hat crowd, I might get concerned.

If you understand what a trial balloon is, you might think that this report was floated just to see WHICH groups jumped. It is kind of like the highway patrol man person Trooper activating the radar gun to see which cars' brake lights illuminate. Can you say "Gotcha"? I knew you could...

I like this next part: "The information is provided to federal, state, local, and tribal counterterrorism and law enforcement officials so they may effectively deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacks against the United States. Federal efforts to influence domestic public opinion must be conducted in an overt and transparent manner, clearly identifying United States Government sponsorship. (emphasis mine). I read this to mean that the Federal Government has decided that, in an effort directed towards focusing local law-enforcement activities in their preferred manner, this report is designed to influence domestic public opinion overtly.

Transparency was only achieved after this report was leaked publicly...

So, the Department of Homeland Security is advocating that Law Enforcement take pre-emptive measures to "prevent" terrorist attacks against the United States. Remember this line when you read further into the report. It has a VERY chilling effect on your rights as citizens and Americans.

Page two lists in great detail the fact that NO SPECIFIC INFORMATION exists about potential attacks, and then in the next sentence states unequivocally that "rightwing extremists may be gaining new recruits by playing on their fears about several emergent issues."

That takes balls.

So does the lumping together of neo-Nazis and skinheads with the guy down the street who got laid off due to the economic downturn. Yep, if you have just lost your job, you are now a racist hate-monger who is angry that a black man is president. I wonder how that logic squares with the minorities who have lost their jobs due to the economic downturn? Are they now neo-Nazi Skinheads too?

I'm just asking.

Who is playing on whom's fears???

Page two also re-hashes the old canard about Tim McVeigh... C'mon guys! McVeigh was a dirtbag who had militant Islamic ties. Really, he did. Would someone at DHS PLEASE go look it up? Or, at least, go ask someone intelligent and knowledgeable in the FBI? Pretty please?

Oh, Bottom of Page two...all you military types fresh from the front lines. You are now terrorists in the eyes of your government. Sorry. Potential terrorists. Because, you know, you might have seen things that might give you trouble sleeping. Or something. Because, you know, you might be human...or something.

Page three: (paraphrasing here) Just because the President PROMISED his constituents and POSTED on the official White House web page that he intends to take your guns away, doesn't mean that the threat is credible. Really it doesn't. He didn't really mean it when he said it, posted it, stumped on it, talked to the President of Mexico about it, blamed YOU for the problems in Mexico because of it, and promised to ram through a treaty with that effect. Nope. Just smoke and mirrors. So all of you people buying guns for the first (second, fourth, fortieth) time can cut it out already. The police are getting worried that it will be harder to confiscate them now that you bought all of them.

This goes double for you returning vets with combat experience. Because, you know, unlike us poor civilian boobs, you guys and gals actually know how to use guns and you have the overseers a wee bit worried that you won't forget those skills any time soon.

The rest of page three is some PSH about how the Zionists are running things now and so we are arming up...or something like that.

Page four: If you oppose Gun Control efforts, Free Trade agreements with the Mexican Narco-State, Abortion, Same-sex Marriage, and "inter-racial crime", you might be a redneck Right Wing Extremist. (Although, parsing this, I guess inter-racial crime means crimes by members of one racial group against members of another. I am opposed to crimes against persons, regardless of race. Does this count?)

Bottom of page four: "(U//FOUO) Historically, domestic rightwing extremists have feared, predicted, and anticipated a cataclysmic economic collapse in the United States. Prominent antigovernment conspiracy theorists have incorporated aspects of an impending economic collapse to intensify fear and paranoia among like-minded individuals and to attract recruits during times of economic uncertainty. Conspiracy theories involving declarations of martial law, impending civil strife or racial conflict, suspension of the U.S. Constitution, and the creation of citizen detention camps often incorporate aspects of a failed economy. Antigovernment conspiracy theories and “end times” prophecies could motivate extremist individuals and groups to stockpile food, ammunition, and weapons. These teachings also have been linked with the radicalization of domestic extremist individuals and groups in the past, such as violent Christian Identity organizations and extremist members of the militia movement."

They took four sentences to say one word: WACO. They are trying to self-fulfill a prophesy of their own creation...and will blame you just like they blamed Koresh and his followers.

Ummm. Hmmmm. If the economy collapses because we pumped a couple of trillion dollars into it without the production to back it up and caused hyper-inflation, you are branded an extremist if you prepared for it by putting aside food, weapons, and ammunition. To provide for your family, should it be required. To protect them, should it be required. To survive a very bad time, should it come to that. The Government (in all of its iterations) has absolutely no duty to protect an individual. This is established fact, cemented in the case law of the country. If Government has no duty to protect you, shouldn't you be prepared to if you have to? I am just asking...

As an aside: If the sun sets in the west and a million people watch it, did they conspire to achieve twilight? Or, did they look at their watches, see the time, read the signs, and prepare to witness it? Just because more than one person can read the signs of the times does not mean that they are a conspiratorial cabal. Really. You dim-witted horse's asses (with apologies to horses worldwide).

Page five: If you are against illegal immigration, you might be an extremist. If you are for it, you might be in Congress...

Page five: If you are against infringements against your Second Amendment rights, you are an extremist (no "maybe" here).

Of course, just because the government wishes to foment violence against gun owners, prompting a response by the "three percenters", doesn't mean that they are wrong. Waco rules are in-effect, you know.

It says so, right at the bottom of page five and the top of page six.

Also at the top of page six is this gem: "On the current front, legislation has been proposed this year requiring mandatory registration of all firearms in the United States. Similar legislation was introduced in 2008 in several states proposing mandatory tagging and registration of ammunition."

Just so we can be clear here (all sarcasm aside): Registration schemes have been the prelude to ALL civilian disarmament efforts ever undertaken. Civilian disarmament has been the prelude to EVERY GENOCIDE IN THE 20TH CENTURY. In my mind, this means that EVERY CONGRESSMAN WHO PROPOSES GUN REGISTRATION IS PROPOSING THE MEANS TO EFFECT GENOCIDE IN THE UNITED STATES. Logically, If A leads to B, and B leads to C, then A leads to C. This is not hard. If you look at the facts objectively, like THIS reporter did HERE, the facts are inescapable.

Extreme? HELL YES! My life is MINE to live, NOT yours to run.

Back to the sarcasm...

Page six continues with more Zionist diatribes, and some fear-mongering about Russia (cuddly-bear would never use petro-muscle as an extortion tool, would they?), China (Tibet? Hong Kong? Taiwan? No worries!), and India ("thank you for calling the -yourcompanynamehere- help desk, my name is "Bob", how can I help?") using their rising influence on the world stage, as well as some drivel about the fact that treaties have the effect of over-riding and diluting our Constitution. Nothing to see here. Really. Oh, and that decade-old treaty about Inter-American Arms Control something-or-other doesn't really mean anything. Keep moving.

The DHS is an understanding agency with absolutely no bias against our military, except for pointing out that you guys might be good if you ever fought with us.

If you have ACTUALLY BOMBED Federal buildings, Conspired to bomb Federal buildings, or married someone who has actually done so...you might be William Ayers, a trusted friend and neighbor of the President. Meaning, you are definitely NOT a domestic terrorist.

Thought for the day:

Spotted this quote over on the 9/12 Project web page:

"Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act. In this relation, then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution."

On Wednesday I was asked by someone if the Tea Party protests were about the Tenth Amendment at all. I told him that I thought that the Tea Party protests were about all of the Constitution, not just about taxation and spending; that the Federal government has exceeded its bounds and needed to be reminded about where their power derived-from the consent of the governed. He pressed, and asked if I thought the Tenth Amendment issue was settled. Since he wanted to corner me on an answer, I told him, in essence, that I thought that there is a lot that is still unsettled, specifically with regard to the 9th, 10th, and 11th Amendments.

Think about the following...

The 9th Amendment:"The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people".

This means that the constitution does not limit OUR actions, and our rights not listed in the Constitution are still ours to excercise. The power is retained by the PEOPLE, not the Government.

The 10th Amendment: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people".

There will continue to be struggles in the balance of power relationship between the States and the Fed. As long as the Fed continues to use Commerce as justification for its existence, and redistribution of tax dollars (with strings attached) as the club of enforcement, then the States will continue to be Vassals of the Fed. Most States can throw off the yoke of Federal control of their operations by refusing Federal Tax dollars. Because, ALL Federal Tax Dollars come with strings attached. Governor Perry of Texas is starting his state down this path.

The 11th Amendment: "The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State".

This means that Federal courts and Federal Prosecutors need to stay out of issues involving issues between citizens inside a state, and between states. It also means that the Federal courts can not be used by Foreign Nationals to sue citizens or States. The Federal Judiciary has exceeded this Amendment many times over, by adopting an expansive view of the Commerce Clause (as Congress has done) in order to interpose themselves into issues that rightfully should be resolved at the State level. Of course, since the Supreme Court has final authority to interpret the Constitution, they have already deemed their usurpation of jurisdiction to be Constitutional. Go figure.

I'll bet that the "constitutional scholar" (yes, lower-case) in the White House thinks that these issues have all been settled long ago. You know, the Constitution is a "living document" to the Left. Situational ethics, and malleable morality muddle the Left's thinking regularly, right up to and until they regain power. At that point, the Constitution is no longer up for debate...unless WE THE PEOPLE make it so.

Contact your congress critters regularly. Hold their feet to the fire about upholding their oath of office. Ensure that your voice is heard. And if they don't listen? Throw the bums out!

Washington DC Tea Party

Readers,

I had some fun today. Lousy weather, good times.

I took a vacation day from work to go to Washington. I have to work for a living to feed my kids, but this is important. My middle child and I went into DC to participate in the Tax Day Tea Party.

We arrived at the Springfield Metro station around 10:30 AM and took the train into DC. Once there, I had a small piece of business to attend to. You see, I needed to drop off a "Thank You" note to the Brady Campaign. They have done more for traffic to my site than any other single issue since I started blogging.

Upon arrival at the building housing the Brady HQ, I had to sign in with the security guard/concierge (I kid you not, his desk sign said "Concierge") and follow several security procedures for gaining entry into the office. (I used my real name on the sign-in ledger so that they can target me later). :)

I made a point of being extremely polite, friendly, and upbeat.

The guard/concierge just got more worried...

Anyway, we went through some additional security procedures further in, and finally made it upstairs. Once buzzed into the inner-sanctum (small office by the way), the receptionist greeted me with some wariness and lots of confusion. The receptionist was a fifty-ish African-American woman with a perpetual frown. I greeted her warmly (increasing her wariness) and handed her my envelope.

She asked for an explanation, which I provided.

I explained to her that this was to go to "Anonymous" from their web team, with my thanks. The envelope contained a handwritten note of Thanks, drafted in red across the visit screen shot from the other day, along with my blogger business card. Once she took the envelope, I thanked her very much for her time and wished her a great day.

The Guard/Concierge was completely flummoxed at this point...

I turned to him and said that I was done, and was he ready to go? He followed me back down in the elevator and we chatted briefly about the visit. I guess he doesn't get many people being nice to him at Brady HQ or something.

At least people who show up unannounced.

Go figure.

Attached is a picture of the envelope, note, and card that I left with the receptionist. I fully expected it to be in the round file by the time I got downstairs, as nobody in the office seemed to have a sense of humor. Oh well. At least I tried a little diplomacy.

Tea Party
After finishing with Brady, we went to Lafayette Square for the main event. We arrived there right at 12:00, and it was raining hard. We had intended on arriving earlier, around 11:00, but delays in departing (I wasn't ready on time for a change) caused us to be behind schedule. No worries. The event was going full-steam and had at least 1000 attendees in the park.

Mid-day.

Mid-week.

In the rain.

Lots of Gadsden Flags and Navy Jacks flying, including ours.

The Grassroots Stage was having lots of people speak their piece, but I wanted to hear what was going on at the main event in front of the Treasury Building. What did I find there?

Nothing.

WTFO?????

I found someone who looked to be directing people back to the park and asked. It seems that for some unknown reason, and without any notice, the City of DC revoked the permit first thing this morning.

No permit to assemble, no assembly.

In Washington DC, the cradle and Capital of Freedom, you cannot express an opinion while on the sidewalk in front of a Federal Building without violating some section of the CFR. Sounds like an infringement on Amendment One to me, but whatever. I didn't get arrested for exercising my right to peaceably assemble.

Back to the park.

There must be something about carrying a flag that causes Media to seek you out. I got interviewed by several people, although no major media outlet coverage was there.

Well there was one...

I am not sure why the local media was ignoring us (actually I am VERY SURE, but that is another blog post), but there were several cameras floating about the park on the shoulders of amused camera operators. Liberal camera guys, conservative crowd.

About the one major media outlet that covered this: I was asked if I was willing to answer a couple of questions, and I did so willingly. The interviewer was happy with the responses, said I was very eloquent, and thanked me for my time.

After he walked away looking for another interviewee, someone came up to me and said "You know that they were Al-Jazeera TV, right?"

ROFLMAO!

No, I didn't know, and I don't really care either.

If word gets out that the people of the USA are not going to stand behind a president who wishes to sell us out, maybe he will start paying attention to us. Although, it is really kind of sad that Saudi State TV is more interested in our protests than our own Mainstream Media is.

Pathetic is a better description.

Maybe Fox will have something on it later tonight. We shall see.

Anyway, I met a great many people. Everybody (except for the Gitmo protesters...) was unfailingly polite. I saw people from all walks of life, of all races and age groups. Old war horses from WW2 and Korea, young mothers with their small children playing in the mud holes, business men and women taking a break from the work-day, and every other type you could think of. Real salt of the earth, clean, wholesome, Americans. God bless them all.

Today was a day that I was proud to be an American. I hope your day went as well.

Interesting Times

The Washington Times, that is. Front and Center on Drudge is a link to this posting by The Washington Times.

Synopsis: Scary "right wing" citizens who want to be left alone are going to be targeted by this administration.

Now, I was never a big fan of Bush43. I believe that a lot of what he did infringed on our Rights. Even so, you didn't see many headlines proclaiming angst about "Left-Wing Terrorists" on his watch. Lots of sympathy for poor-misunderstood Islamo-fascists, yes, but not a lot of crying about attacks on Williams Ayers and his ilk.

For the proven Domestic Terrorist like Ayers, life was pretty rosy. No targeting of him either. He even got to launch BHO at us from his living room.

BHO's approach? Silence those who disagree with you.

Can preventative arrests for pre-cognitive crimes be next? We already have ex-post facto laws and bills of attainder laws working for the Treasury Department (AIG, et.al.). Why not excercise a little more infringement? So far, nobody is stopping them.

Be careful out there.

Brady "truth in advertising?"

I had to chuckle at their latest campaign slogan. Not because it doesn't state their current marketing attempt, mind you. No, I had to chuckle because it obviously was punctuated incorrectly.

You see, their slogan today is "No Background Checks, No Guns, No Excuses". Stated thus, it is obvious that their current campaign is an attempt to close the so-called "Gun-Show Loophole" by which private transfers of firearms occur.

No surprise there at all.

However, if you alter the punctuation slightly, you get an entirely different meaning. And, one that aligns more closely with their ultimate policy goal:

No Background Checks.
No Guns.
No Excuses.

Doesn't that ring a little more true?

(By the way, my most recent visit to their webpage revealed that this slogan is not to be found anywhere right now. It is probably an "ad rotation" thing, but maybe they are changing their approach yet again in an attempt to appear relevant.)

Brady Campaign cannot handle debate, part 2

Readers,

Since I had the temerity to offer an opposing opinion last night on the Brady Facebook Page, I was promptly removed from public view. I posted about it HERE, and received a response (quite civil, actually) pointing out my own commenting rules to me.

No issue there.

When I checked my site statistics, however, it became clear that the Brady Campaign not only cannot tolerate dissent but they want to begin the debate here. Excellent! How do I know this?

THIS is how I know.

Brady cannot handle a debate, much less the truth

For posterity. Posting this before the Brady Campaign's moderators delete the postings on their Facebook page. (Since they cannot tolerate civil discourse by thinking, not "feeling" individuals):

"It surprises me that we expect people to have training and a license to drive, say, a semi. But some people fight the idea that gun owners should be trained and licensed. That's what I'd like to see changed. Gun owners should show responsibility and knowledge to own a weapon."

My response to Denise: It just might be time to require training and licensing before allowing people to publicly express an opinion. I mean, we cannot have uninformed people spouting off about things that they have no expertise in, can we? The consequences of written words have proven very deadly over the centuries. Marx, Mao, and Hitler all wrote stuff that caused people to follow them, ultimately killing MILLIONS of people through the years.

We should put a stop to unauthorized, un-permitted, opinion making before someone gets hurt...

Did I miss something?


And...Michael said: "these posts should be recorded as an example of the pretzel logic used by gun owners." and also "more absurd comments from gun owners." in response to two or three very civil comments by pro-2A people.

My response:

Michael,

We can call up DOJ statistics all day long to support our position that more gun control laws enacted does not equal less crime or safer streets. Requiring permits to exercise a right is silly.

Do we require church-goers to register their religious preference with the State?

Do we require journalists to register their word processors with the local City Hall?

Do we even bother issuing a criminal defendant a permit to remain silent?

No, these are Rights, established not by Men, and recognized by our Constitution as deriving from a higher source.

I am sorry that you choose to denigrate our attempts at reasoned discourse with epithets like "more absurd comments from gun owners" It really minimizes your effectiveness as a defender of your group's positions.

< sigh - RANT ON>

I think it is time to engage in a campaign to require all Leftist Feel-Good posters, bloggers, Facebook users, Twitter users, Texters, and the rest of the "feel-good, screw your rights" crowd to register their implements of mass distortion (pencils, pens, typewriters, phones, Blackberries, computers) with the government.

Before allowing them to use them publicly on their own, or for commenting in a public discourse, documentation must be shown that they have passed a training class, shown competence with sentence structure, and can complete entire thoughts in a logical manner before the devices are released back to them. Anybody who shows insufficient aptitude with the written word will be required to undergo additional training classes until such time as their effectiveness can be proven. All such classes shall be at the student's expense.

Additionally, all people wishing to publicly express an opinion as their own shall register with the appropriate level agency (City or Town Hall for local issues, State Agencies for state-wide opinion-making, and the Federal Communications Commission for anything being disseminated across State lines) and obtain a permit to speak.

If we can enforce training regimens on people who drive or fly (privileges), it should be OK to expect the same level of scrutiny on Speech (a Right). That makes perfect sense, doesn't it? I mean, after all, drivers kill many more people each year than guns do, and speech is the biggest killer of all (Millions and Millions...).

Of course, the people like Denise and Michael will deserve everything that they have earned when THEIR rights get trampled by the State. Especially considering that they ardently support those who would disarm their potential defenders.

Tax Day Tea Party

I will be in Washington, D.C. on the 15th. I will have my son with me and we will be flying a Gadsden Flag and a First U.S. Navy Jack.

Since this is D.C., I will also be wearing an empty holster. The empty holster is in protest of the draconian anti-gun laws that still exist in the Capital of our ostensibly-free country, where our elected representatives ignore us while stealing us blind.

I sincerely hope that no ACORN zero-liability-voters show up in fraudulent protest of our protest. If they do, they might find out that they are truly in the minority in the US, and have only enabled a temporary theft of the Nation's highest office. Lasting change will occur when the incumbent leftists and moderates of BOTH parties are thrown out on their ears and we elect some people actually worthy of the job.

We have been lax in our vigilance for too long as a nation. Hopefully there is time to turn this around peacefully...I surely hope and pray that this is the case.

Posting scarcity

Sorry readers. I have some pressing issues in real life that are distracting me.

I am working on two things though:

The first is a speculative essay on how many deaths were CAUSED by gun control, gun registration, and civilian disarmament in the 20th Century. I say caused, because the people advocating these very policies always blame the tool, not the tool's wielder. Well, two can play at that game. The results of gun control policy are that citizens are open to predation by criminals of all stripes. To my mind, this is the root cause of these deaths.

The numbers are staggering...

The second is an essay contrasting and comparing the antagonists in today's Government with their analogs in Atlas Shrugged. This latter will take quite some time, but I hope to have it up in a week or two. If you haven't read the book, grab a copy before your local book store runs out again. It is no accident that the story is still relevant today. Evil was present in the halls of government back in the Fifties. Evil's spawn are in control of government now.

Lord save us from the unintended consequences of the do-gooders!

In the meantime, I am reading the currently-available chapters of Absolved by Mike Vanderboegh. I suggest you read it if you have not done so already. An interesting book for interesting times...

Taxes

Ugh. Taxes.

I hate the word.

I just had to write a check to Uncle Sugar for quarterly taxes. The act of writing that check caused me to wonder again whether the idiots in DC understand or care that it is OUR money that they are spending.

If only we could eliminate withholding by the employer and make the citizens write that check to the Government, every month or every quarter, like the self-employed do. What an awakening that would cause in the electorate! We might even reduce the size of the bloated bureaucracy.

I sent my tea bag WRAPPER in to the White House. Written in bold Sharpie were the words "It is not your money!" No actual tea was sent, as it would probably flag me as a domestic terrorist. Come to think of it, just espousing traditional values nowadays brands one as a domestic terrorist.

Go figure.

Anyway, I wish the President long life and happiness in whatever he does after his term as the pretender-in-chief expires. Hopefully, that will be sooner rather than later. Short of Articles of Impeachment (not likely even in the most politically advantageous times), that day will be 1/20/2013.

I can hardly wait.

I plan on attending the National Tax Day Tea Party in DC on 4/15. If my shirt and flag arrive from Gadsden and Culpeper, then I will wearing one and flying the other...
